Volunteer with Hospice!
Hospice is about quality of life.
Hello amazing you! Are you are searching for a way to make a positive difference in the lives of others? This is a great opportunity to bring in your open heart and compassionate presence!
You can be a source of support to those in the final part of their journey. Signature Hospice invites you to share your compassionate heart with patients and families in your community. Many of our patients will benefit greatly from your authentic presence.
The Hospice Companion Volunteer - Companionship is many things -- playing music, reading prayer, poetry, stories, enjoying pet videos, watching a movie together, bringing in nature, or holding a hand in gentle silence. Your presence will also act as an advocate for those who are unable to let their needs known, or for example, may just need help finding the remote to watch their favorite show. Hospice is about quality of life in each moment. You can help bring in this quality. You time of service will be 1-4 hours a week.
The first step is to contact me and meet at your favorite coffee shop where we'll talk about hospice and what volunteering entails. Let's start the conversation.
*Training is at your pace* Our volunteer training will help deepen your awareness of the healing presence you have available to share with others. Please join our outstanding hospice team for this rewarding work!
There are 3 levels to complete with approx 21hrs of training. We follow all CMS/CDC/State guidelines on safety, testing, background/driver checks, and tb test.
Our Signature Hospice team is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for those we serve to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings.
Signature Hospice affirms life. We exist to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of a life-limiting illness so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. We believe every little thing we do, can and will make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
We believe that providing care for a terminal patient is a sacred and honored opportunity to help people live as fully as possible while embracing the demands of terminal illness.
While our main office is located in Portland, Oregon, we have opportunities available throughout the Portland Metropolitan area, Hillsboro, Sandy, McMinnville, Salem and more. Join our team!
